Vacancy: Pungra Board Member (Voluntary)

Location: Remote, with occasional attendance at our fitness class at Northwood Schoo or upcoming Oak Wood School
Time commitment: about 2 to 3 hours a month
Term: 12 months, renewable
Reports to: Ravi Sandhu, founder
Pay: Unpaid voluntary role. Reasonable expenses are covered.

About Pungra

Pungra is really just one guy (me, Ravi Sandhu) trying his best to do something good. But it has the potential to really bring a great improvement to exercise offerings to the community in the UK. The best way for this to happen is to become a robust voluntary group organisation, apply for public funds and use that money to upskill fitness instructors across the country. To make this dream possible, requires at least two people, who are not living together. I am ready to be one of those people, but for this to move forward, there needs to be at least another, ideally two. 

The role

Pungra's board will decide what funds we apply for and what projects we delivery. The team's responsiblities are to understand the partners and customers important to helping more people to exercise. This includes organisations such as CIMSPA, EMD UK, Fitness chains, Sport England, The Greater London Authority, London Sport and more.

You do not need experience in a not-for-profit, a fitness qualification, or any knowledge of Punjabi music or dance.

Skills that would help, though none is required: marketing, finance, law, education, health, community work, fundraising, partnerships and public policy.
